Dear Mr. Hinrichsen:
Thank you for your letter and let me tell you
that my regrets not to have seen you while I
was in New York, were equal to yours.
I am a little disappointed that the Fantasy is
still not available. I would very much like you
to give Mr. Rufer, who is an extremely honorable
man, and a great disciple of Arnold Schoenberg,
all the immediate support you can. Also, I find it extremely
important that this work Rufer's book is available
by June for the twelve-tone congress in Salzburg.
You musn't be hesitant in allowing him to reprint
anything, for he is a person of absolute integ-
rity and I vouch for him. (You know me well enough to know
that I don't say this of many persons.)
I hope to hear soon from you again,
