Dear Dr. Schoenberg:
In receipt of your cordial letter dated June 12, I noticed that not only
Arnold Schoenberg has to swallow many bitter pills at present but also his
friend, Walter Hinrichsen. The bitter pill which I am referring to now is that
neither you nor Mr. Hoffmann included in your last letter the list of
PETERS EDITION numbers which both of you would like to add to your per-
sonal libraries in the form of reference copies.

I am looking eagerly forward to receive these two lists and am taking
this opportunity to advise that I expect to have one proof of Op. 47, contain-
ing all corrections, ready by the end of next week. As previously mentioned,
this will be forwarded to you immediately for your final check. At time
when you return this proof with your final O. K., I would appreciate it greatly
if we could forget about sending you one more proof of the newly engraved
Op. 47, in order to save time.
